Dr. Lorena Rivera

Dr. Lorena Rivera is NGFIT’s staff geneticist. Her work is the analytical engine behind every NGFIT protocol — translating each client’s unique genetic profile into actionable wellness, performance, and longevity strategies.

What Dr. Rivera does

Dr. Rivera’s role centers on four interconnected disciplines, applied specifically within a wellness, coaching, and performance context:

Analyzing genetic patterns

Dr. Rivera reviews each client’s whole-genome sequencing data (delivered through NGFIT’s partnership with Simplify Genomics) and identifies the specific patterns most relevant to that client’s NGFIT tier, selected wellness domains, and stated goals. She is not searching for disease diagnoses — she is mapping the genetic architecture that influences how each individual responds to sleep, nutrition, movement, stress, and supplementation.

Interpreting genetic tendencies

Genetic data is information, not destiny. Dr. Rivera’s expertise is in reading nuance — distinguishing between strong genetic predispositions and weak associations, between actionable variants and noise, between findings that warrant a protocol shift and findings that are interesting but not yet useful. She translates raw genetic information into clear, plain-language insights about a client’s biological tendencies.

Discussing behavioral predispositions

Genes influence behavior in ways that matter enormously for wellness coaching — sleep chronotype, stress reactivity, satiety signaling, motivational drive, recovery capacity, and dozens of other dimensions. Dr. Rivera identifies the behavioral predispositions written into each client’s DNA and advises on how to design protocols that work with a client’s biology rather than against it. The cliché about “fighting your genetics” exists because most wellness programs do exactly that. NGFIT does the opposite.

Applying genetics in a wellness, coaching, and performance context

Dr. Rivera’s findings don’t sit in a report — they directly inform the customized protocols that Chris and the NGFIT team build and coach. She works alongside the coaching team to ensure that every recommendation a client receives is grounded in their actual biology, and she remains involved as biomarker data accumulates and protocols iterate over the program’s six-month arc.

What Dr. Rivera does not do

This boundary is essential — both for legal clarity and for client expectations:

  • Dr. Rivera does not provide medical advice, diagnose disease, or treat conditions.
  • Dr. Rivera does not replace a client’s primary care physician, specialist, or genetic counselor.
  • Dr. Rivera does not order, interpret, or comment on clinical genetic tests for hereditary disease risk.
  • Dr. Rivera’s work is for wellness, coaching, and performance optimization — not clinical care.

If a client’s genetic findings suggest something that warrants medical follow-up, NGFIT recommends they discuss it with the appropriate licensed clinical provider. NGFIT and Dr. Rivera operate in the wellness and performance-optimization space, not the clinical medicine space.

Why this matters

Dr. Rivera’s role is what makes NGFIT genuinely different from every “send your DNA, get a generic report” service on the market. Most consumer genetics companies hand clients a static PDF and walk away. NGFIT does the opposite: a real geneticist analyzing real data, embedded in a coaching relationship that lasts months and adapts as biomarkers shift. That’s the value proposition that justifies the premium price point — and it’s the part of NGFIT that no competitor can copy without hiring a geneticist of their own.
